Houston, TX

Houston is a large metropolis in Texas, extending to Galveston Bay. It’s closely linked with the Space Center Houston, the coastal visitor center at NASA’s astronaut training and flight control complex. The city’s relatively compact Downtown includes the Theater District, home to the renowned Houston Grand Opera, and the Historic District, with 19th-century architecture and upscale restaurants.

It is a Laid-back, pick-up truck and boot-scooting town that meets high-powered, high-cultured and high-heeled metropolis. Houston encompasses everything you’d expect to find in the Lone Star State, and plenty more besides. It is the energy capital of the world and said to enjoy the nation’s highest standard of living. Its museums – especially the Menil Collection and the associated Rothko Chapel – are extraordinary, while the dining and entertainment scenes are renowned across the region.

Take a stroll through the historic Heights, spend the day exploring the Museum District or head down to Space Center Houston. Later on, grab a bite in one of dozens of award-winning restaurants, or hang out with the cool kids on Washington Avenue. There's always something to do in this Southern hospitality meets urban chic city.
