Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory, encompasses 3 islands in the western Caribbean Sea. Grand Cayman, the largest island, is known for its beach resorts and varied scuba diving and snorkeling sites.

Whether you are looking for complete relaxation, exquisite dining, exciting nightlife or the awesome underwater sights of our oh-so-accessible reefs, we have something for everyone. Visit the Seven Mile Beach, rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean or take a trip to visit Stingray City where you can play with the friendly creatures.

Cayman Brac is a popular launch point for deep-sea fishing excursions. Its named for its breathtaking 140 ft bluff, the “Brac” is a rugged and charming 14 square miles and provides adventure seekers and nature lovers with the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of our islands’ most dramatic scenery, exotic flora and fauna. Make sure to check out the limestone caves and sinkholes! Little Cayman, the smallest and most tranquil island, is home to diverse wildlife, from endangered iguanas to seabirds such as red-footed boobies.

On Little Cayman, you’ll find privacy and total relaxation. Bask on empty beaches that seem straight from a magazine, with soft white sand and only the wind blowing the palm trees to disturb you. Little Cayman offers over fifty unique dives sites good for snorkeling where you will see colorful coral gardens and exotic sponges and well as lobster, octopus, eagle rays, reef sharks, turtles and every variety of tropical fish. No matter what island you choose, you will not be disappointed!

The official language of the Cayman Islands is English.

The currency is the Cayman Islands dollar but the US dollar is also accepted. The time zone in the Islands is GMT/UTC – 5 hours and they do not observe daylight savings.

Weather
The Cayman Islands are sunny and hot year-round. The island air is humid, though you will often feel a cool breeze from the ocean at night. Temperatures don’t swing wildly from season to season, but daytime temperatures range from 72 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit from November through April. Temperatures between early May and late October tend to be in the upper 80’s. Summer is the rainiest season, though occasional rainfall is common throughout the year. Hurricane season lasts from the first of June through Nov. 30. The best month to visit the Islands is April.
